Analog Devices AD9048JQ Monolithic 8-Bit Video A/D Converter Integrated Circuit

The AD9048 is an 8-bit, 35 MSPS flash converter designed on a high-speed bipolar process. It serves as an alternative to the TDC1048 unit and offers several enhancements over its predecessor. With lower power dissipation, the AD9048 is well-suited for a variety of system designs. Its wide bandwidth makes it ideal for real-time video signal conversion, with input bandwidth flat and no missing codes. Clocked latching comparators, encoding logic, and output buffer registers operating at 35 MSPS eliminate the need for a sample-and-hold (S/H) or track-and-hold (T/H) in most systems.

All digital control inputs and outputs are TTL compatible. The device is available in two ambient temperature ranges and two grades of linearity, offering either 0.5 LSB or 0.75 LSB accuracy. Commercial units cover a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, while extended temperature units operate from –55°C to +125°C. The commercial version comes in 28-lead DIPs, while extended temperature versions are offered in ceramic DIP and ceramic LCC packages.
