APAS Sensor Skin
The robot features
APAS capacitive sensor skin
—the black
covering around the arm. It provides contactless proximity detection and works
with the APAS safety controls to stop the robot when a person approaches the monitored area.
The system is designed for human-robot collaboration applications,
subject to proper installation and application-specific safety validation.
Controllers and Teach Pendant
The
KUKA KR C4 smallsize-2
controller cabinet runs the robot
and powers its motors. The included
KUKA smartPAD
handheld
touchscreen pendant is used for operation, jogging and programming.
The separate Bosch Rexroth cabinet contains an XM21 controller, SafeLogic safety
controller, S20 PROFINET bus coupler, safety I/O modules, digital I/O and Siemens
SITOP 24 V power supply. The supplied documentation identifies
PROFINET/PROFIsafe
communication between the APAS controls
and KUKA robot controller.
Included Equipment
Robot with APAS sensor skin and base-mounted status light; KUKA controller
cabinet; Bosch Rexroth control/safety cabinet; smartPAD teach pendant; motor
and feedback cables; sensor/control and network cabling; grounding conductors;
and the manuals and accessories pictured.
Documentation and Software Configuration
Supplied documentation includes the APAS assembly/installation manual,
electromagnetic compatibility instructions, connection diagrams and equipment
configuration paperwork. These cover technical data, system connections,
safety functions, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
The configuration paperwork lists
KUKA System Software 8.5
and options including PROFINET, SafeOperation, ExpertTech and mxAutomation.
Refer to the included paperwork for software configuration and license details.
Condition and Installation
Operational system with brief demonstration use. Some wiring and external
connections are currently disconnected. Reconnection, installation and
commissioning will be required at purchasers site. See photos for details.
